Will the BioRich Soil System help with slick spots where the water wont penetrate?

A: Yes. The slick spots are caused primarily by the soil particles being held tightly together electrically. As this electrical attraction is relaxed the water will penetrate better. As life develops and plants start to grow the soil will be opened up even more.

Can the BioRich Soil System help with runoff?

A: Yes. Many pivots that had runoff on a three day rotation now have no runoff on a 6 day rotation. Flood water also soaks in better.

Basically, what are the products you use for agriculture?

A: The products we use are called The Bio-N-Liven Answer® and The Carbon Answer®. The Bio-N-Liven is a mixture of different enzymes along with some microorganisms that is designed to stimulate the microbiology of your soil. The Carbon is a food source for your microbiology that is made up of concentrated sugars that from Carbon, and water soluble trace minerals (mineral electrolyte).

How is the BioRich Soil System applied?

A: This is a good question because application methods differ with irrigation methods and situations, but the basic idea is that the two products are combined in a tank of water and allowed to 'brew' for a time — this mixture is then dripped or injected into your irrigation, or sprayed onto the desired amount of acreage.

Are the BioRich Soil products powder or liquid, and do they mix well?

A: Both of the Carbon Answer® and the Bio-N-Liven Answer® are liquid products that will stay evenly mixed in a tank of water without the need of aerators or pumps to keep the water moving.

How much of each product do you recommend applying per acre?

A: We generally recommend the application of 48 oz. of total product per acre, but this rate varies according to individual circumstances. We also recommend a ratio of 2 to 1, Carbon Answer® to Bio-N-Liven®. This means that in our general application we would apply 32 oz. of Carbon per acre along with 16 oz. of Bio-N-Liven per acre. Again we emphasize that this is a general recommendation and different circumstances may call for different rates and ratios.

Does the BioRich Soil System work well for lawns and gardens and can it simply be applied with a hand sprayer?

A: The short answer is yes. Master Gardeners use these products to create some of the nicest gardens and yards in the world. The Bio-N-Liven Answer® plus the Carbon Answer® will help to soften the soil, get the water in and help to balance the conditions in the soil that will allow microbes and worms to multiply. All of these processes working together will improve the health and growing conditions for the lawn and garden. Application with a hand sprayer works very well.

When is the most effective time to apply the Bio and Carbon?

A: In general we recommend that you apply the 32 oz of Carbon and 16 oz of Bio continuously throughout the growing season. If this isn't possible, then apply as many times as feasible. We also recommend that you apply an extra dose at the beginning of the year, then divide the remainder of what is to be applied by the weeks left in your growing season, and apply this much per week. For example for a 128 acre pivot with a 25 week growing season, you could apply 8 oz of Carbon per acre and 4 oz of Bio per acre (this would be 8 gallons of Carbon and 4 gallons of Bio total for the field) on your first application in the spring—this leaves 24 oz of Carbon per acre and 12 oz of Bio per acre still to be applied in the remaining 24 weeks. So just put one ounce of Carbon per acre (one gallon total) per week, and 1/2 ounce Bio per acre (half gallon total) per week in your tank for the remainder of your growing season. However, in harsh conditions it may be advisable to apply the full years rate in the first month of growing, it really depends on your conditions (and your own preference, of course).

When will I be able to see results?

A: This question is difficult to answer. We have had some customers see immediate results and other customers have applied heavy rates for a full season without seeing noticeable results, but at the beginning of the next season results were obvious. If you apply our recommended rates and will closely track your field's water intake and retention, plant health, and production we have seen that almost all customers notice results the first season, sometimes even in the first few weeks.

How does the BioRich Soil field application help with pest control?

A: Pests destroy unhealthy plants. Since our products don't actually kill insects, it is unlikely that our products could provide an overnight solution to insect pressure. A heavy dose of Carbon may keep them from actually eating on the plants for a brief time because of its electrical charge, but it will not kill them. Our goal is to create healthy plants that insects aren't attracted to—in some cases this may take a lot of time, in other cases a short time. Since our products balance the plants nutritionally and electrically they will eventually become like an electric fence for bugs—insects won't want to touch them. However, to expect that this balance can come overnight and drive away a multitude of insects that are already attacking your unhealthy plants is unrealistic. The insect control comes as you bring your plants into a healthy balance, and any commercial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides will actually throw your plants out of balance and make them more vulnerable to insects in the future.

Does it have a toxic smell?

A: No, there is no toxic smell. The Carbon Answer® has a sweet smell and the Bio-N-Liven Answer® has very little if any smell.

Do you use the BioRich Soil products with dry land crops and how do you apply them there?

A: Yes this product can be use with dry land crops. The products are liquid and can be applied at planting time if the planting equipment is set up for liquid applications. They can also be used to treat the seed at the time of planting. Or they can be sprayed on from ground equipment or from the air. They can be applied to bare ground as well as growing crops. The timing of the applications needs to fit the farming operation and weather patterns of the area.

Do you mix the BioRich Soil products with water, and if so how much?

A: Yes, you can mix the BioRich Soil products with water. The amount can vary, depending on the equipment used for application. Typical rates for a spray rig are around 10 gallons per acre. When mixed in irrigation water, it is much more diluted. Both are equally effective.
